Eligibility
General Eligibility
- Students appearing for or who have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Science subjects from a recognized board.
- Candidates must satisfy the latest eligibility criteria prescribed by the IISER Admissions Board.
- Indian nationals, OCI, PIO, and foreign nationals may apply as per the official admission guidelines.
Academic Requirements
- Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and/or Biology in Class 12.
- Admission is based on the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) and other admission channels as notified for the current academic year.
- Students must fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements specified for their chosen IISER programme.
IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) Exam Pattern
Mode of Examination
The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) is conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) at designated examination centres.
Duration
The examination is conducted for 3 Hours.
Subjects Covered
The examination includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, based on the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus.
Question Type
The examination consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) designed to assess conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and scientific aptitude.

Number of Questions

The maximum score for JEE Main Paper 1 is 300 marks, with each subject carrying equal weightage.
Marking Scheme
Candidates are awarded 4 marks for every correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect response in MCQ-type questions. Numerical Value Questions are evaluated according to the latest NTA marking guidelines.
IISER Syllabus
The IISER Aptitude Test syllabus is based on the NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum,
covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. The examination is designed to
evaluate conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and scientific aptitude. Candidates
should prepare according to the latest syllabus prescribed by the IISER Admissions Board.
