Eligibility
General Eligibility
- Students appearing for or who have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) from a recognized board.
- Indian and international candidates are eligible as per the latest NTA guidelines.
- Candidates must satisfy the latest eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Academic Requirements
- Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English are compulsory subjects in Class 12.
- Candidates must have completed the required qualifying examination from a recognized board.
- Students must fulfill the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed for their respective category.
NEET Exam Pattern (2026)
Mode of Examination
NEET is conducted as a pen-and-paper (offline) examination in which candidates mark their responses on an OMR answer sheet.
Duration
The examination is conducted for a total duration of 3 hours, providing sufficient time to complete all sections.
Subjects Covered
The question paper includes Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, covering topics from the Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT syllabus.

Candidates are awarded 4 marks for every correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect response. No marks are awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.

The examination is available in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, and Urdu, allowing candidates to choose their preferred language.
