NATA Exam Pattern (2026)

Mode of Examination

NATA is conducted in two parts: Part A (Drawing & Composition) in offline (pen-and-paper) mode and Part B (Aptitude Test) in online computer-adaptive mode.

Duration

The examination is conducted over 3 hours, with 90 minutes each allotted for Part A and Part B.

Sections Covered

The examination consists of Drawing & Composition and Aptitude, assessing creativity, visualization, reasoning, and mathematical ability.

Question Type

Part A includes drawing and composition-based questions, while Part B consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical/Adaptive Questions.

Total Marks

The examination carries a maximum of 200 marks, with 80 marks for Part A and 120 marks for Part B.

Marking Scheme

The marking pattern is prescribed by the Council of Architecture (CoA). Drawing questions are evaluated based on creativity and presentation, while aptitude questions are assessed according to the official marking scheme.

Total Marks

The maximum score for JEE Main Paper 1 is 300 marks, with each subject carrying equal weightage.

The examination is conducted in English and Hindi.

NATA Syllabus

Reasoning, Mathematics, Architectural Awareness, and Creative Thinking. The
examination is designed to evaluate both artistic ability and analytical aptitude required
